Company Timeline

In 1991, recognizing the potential of the seafood processing and exporting industry, the company decided to shift its investment to octopus, rays and frozen sharks. This is seen as a milestone marking the sustainable progress of Mekongfish.

In 2002, seizing the high potential of pangasius, the company decided to focus all its resources on this item. On February 26, 2002, Mekong Fisheries Joint Stock Company was established from the equitization of state-owned enterprises and has ever since become a prestigious exporter of frozen pangasius and other fisheries products in both domestic and overseas markets. The initial capital was 20 billion VND, increasing gradually to 81 billion VND in 2008 and 123 billion VND in 2019.

From 2005 to 2009, due to the increasing demand for raw material sources, the company decided to invest in developing farming areas in Tra On and Tam Binh districts, Vinh Long province. Between 2009 and 2012, the two fishing grounds of Dong Hau and Tich Thien went into stable operation. From 2012 till now, the company has operated stably with 2 farming areas to meet more than 50% of the company's output

From a small business, with the continuous efforts of all employees, the precious support from partners and customers; along with strategic plans from our Board of Directors, Mekongfish is constantly growing and asserting our brand in the international market. Up to now, despite the fluctuation of the market, Mekongfish has maintained the operation sustainability and effectively. Our desire is to bring Vietnam pangasius to the world. We are always proud to contribute to improve the living standard of fishermen, created jobs for workers in the Mekong Delta Region and brought quality and prestigious products to our valued consumers.
