2nd quarter of the year 2019 profits go sideways, Mekong seafood still "finish" early after the first 6 months

As a result, Mekong Fisheries generated VND 4.6 billion in profit before tax, a slight increase of 3% over the same period. However, after-tax profit decreased more than 5% to VND 3.7 billion.
In the first 6 months, Mekong Fisheries recorded 94.5 billion dong net revenue, down by 14% YoY but EBT increased by 9% to 8.4 billion dong. Profit after tax earned nearly VND 6.9 billion, corresponding to the basic earnings per share (EPS) of VND 584.
In 2019, Mekong Fisheries plans revenue and profit before tax of VND 220 billion and VND 8 billion, respectively. With the results achieved after the first half of the year, Mekong Fisheries, though having just implemented nearly half of its revenue target, exceeded 5% of the profit target set for the whole year.
Financially, by the end of June, AAM's total assets increased 5% from the beginning of the year to VND 241 billion with 82.5% being short-term assets. Besides having no financial debt, Mekong Fisheries also accumulated more than 20 billion dong of retained profit and 93.3 billion dong of equity surplus.
On the stock market, after a strong upturn period in early April thanks to positive business results in the first quarter of the year, AAM shares increased nearly 50% after 2 months to peak at 14,500 VND / share.
However, after that, this stock entered the correcting phase through which it moved sideways around 12,000 VND / share. Ending the trading session on 11/07, the AAM market price was only VND 11,650 / share, equivalent to a market capitalization of only VND 121 billion.
